Healthscore: Risk Assessment for Chronic Disease
We use diagnostic tools that help evaluate your personal risk factors for chronic diseases such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, etc. Poor lifestyle habits contribute greatly to the current healthcare crisis. Health problems have become increasingly prevalent as a result of poor nutrition, sedentary lifestyles, environmental toxins and psychological stresses.

These are the lifestyle diseases that Healthscore has been designed to help prevent.

Our evidence-based numeric health assessment and evaluation serve as the basis for helping us develop personalized preventive strategies. They enable you to identify the problems relevant to your habits, learn about and adopt proven and effective preventive strategies, get support for your efforts to improve your lifestyle and measure the benefits of these changes on your current health.

Computerized Neurological Exams
The « subluxation station » is a tool to facilitate the identification of neurological imbalances affecting your nervous system. It helps us identify dysfunctional levels of the spine and follow its progression and improvement  during your chiropractic care.

1) Thermography
Thermography helps us evaluate the function of the autonomous nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic). The autonomic nervous system controls the respiratory, digestive, endocrine and circulatory systems. These systems depend on regulation centers located in the spinal cord (protected by the spinal column), the cerebral trunk and the brain. Stress, poor lifestyle habits and sleep deprivation can affect the regulation of these organs and vital tissue. By measuring skin heat variations, this tool helps us give personalized recommendations.

 2) EMG (Electromyography)
Electromyography helps us evaluate the function of your motor nervous system. Electrodes measure the electrical impulses from the paraspinal muscles, located on each side of the spine. Bad posture, falls and accidents can cause muscle imbalances. This exam quantifies the contraction of the stabilizing muscles and shows the progress made during your chiropractic care.

3) Heart Rate Variability at Rest
Heart rhythm variability measures heart rate variations. More specifically, it measures the heart’s capacity to self-regulate. This 5-minute exam provides a measurement which helps us qualify the homeostasis level or imbalances, affecting the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.

Evaluation of Body Composition
During initial patient evaluation, we measure body fat percentage, body mass index (BMI) and muscle mass percentage, which are essential risk indicators for obesity-related diseases. These measurements will be used to promote prevention and educate patients about the importance of maintaining a healthy weight throughout their lives.

Radiology
To facilitate accessibility to diagnostic exams, we offer x-ray facilities on the premises. Chiropractors are trained to take and analyze radiographs.
