Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) that can help prevent and cure illness by stimulating the immune system, tissues and cells.
Acupuncture is for everyone, regardless of age. There are no secondary effects and it is virtually painless. It regulates hormonal functions and diminishes sympathetic nervous system activity. Acupuncture has physical, emotional and/or psychological effects. Interestingly, it is also effective when there are no visual signs or explanation of illness in traditional Western medicine.
Acupuncture is both art & science. An ancestral method of healing, acupuncture is now recognized by National Health Institute (USA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
What can acupuncture treat?
Acupuncture can help with pain, neurological and musculo-skeletal diseases, stress, digestive disease, fertility and gynecological problems, eye disease, respiratory disease, sinusitis, allergies, etc. Today, the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes that 43 illnesses can be successfully treated by acupuncture. But acupuncture has been used in the treatment of many more physiological disorders in humans for more than 3000 years. Feel free to call Chantal Deschênes to get more information: 514-677-0897.
Your Acupuncturist
Chantal has developed a gentle approach for people who are not comfortable with the idea of being treated with needles. She also works with tools other than needles: cupping, moxa, electro stimulation, lasers and her hands! Her goal is to choose the proper «therapeutic language» for each patient and to allow them to relax and heal. Depending on a patient's medical history, she will not hesitate to refer to other health practitioners from alternative and/or Western medicine.
Chantal completed the Traditional Chinese Acupuncture studies program at the Collège de Rosemont, followed by clinical training in Québec, at the clinical school of the college and then in China, at the University Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Province of Zhejiang. She has been a member of the Ordre des acupuncteurs du Québec since 2007.
